Overview
To close our 2020-21 season, world-class accordionist Miloš Milivojević brings out his box of tricks and guides us through a variety of music written for this unexpectedly versatile instrument – from Rebecca Saunders’ raging tempest via Anthony Gilbert’s radiant Gallic diversion to an exhilarating new work written especially for us by brilliant young composer David John Roche. Also tonight, Benedict Holland tackles Lachenmann’s taut, edgy Toccatina for solo violin – and we’ll return to a work we premiered to a great reception at the Whitworth three years ago, Bethan Morgan-Williams’ Traces of a Disco.
